Adventure week

Last week my class and some students out of another class were doing this adventure week thing and it went for the whole week we got to choose our own activities for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and on Thursday we all went to Jellie Park altogether and on Friday it was Rumbustification day.


On Monday the people that were going to Flipout were getting ready to leave at 12:45 we got all our bags ready to hop on the bus and leave. When we got there we went in and took off our shoes and socks and listened to the safety rules so we don't get hurt then we all went to the trampolines to play I first went on to the far one with the bounce wall I then went to the foam pit it was so soft after about 2 hours we left to go back to school.


On Tuesday I chose town trip so I got to school and people were getting there bags ready so I did to we started walking to the bus stop to get on the bus we had to wait about 15 minutes for the bus to arrive. The bus finally came. Mr Redmond let the other people get on first then we got on there wasn't many seats but most of us got seats. When we got to the bus exchange we got of the bus we all went to the teacher to listen to what he was saying. We were walking to the Mueseum first. When we got there it was really weird because the people that work at the Mueseum set up this weird thing with all of these activities to do there was a dentist one, a strength one, a height one, a weight one, a heart one, and the last one is what you'll look like when your older after we finished that we went to the Margaret Mahy park to play I first went to the silver side after about 1 our there we went back to school.


On Wednesday I did cooking at school we were making golden biscuits that's what they are called. we first got some butter and melted it with some sugar and maple syrup. Once it was melted we added baking soda and mixed it until it was a little frothy. We then added flour then mixed it in the Eli gave us some chocolate chips to put in then we cut the biscuits with the shaped cutter or just made it into little circles but I mad little love hearts i made about 10 of them then I put them On the tray with Alex's big one. I then took them to the classroom next door because the oven in my class was full I asked Nogo to put a timer on for 14 minutes I kept checking on them and the last time I checked on them the student that were in that class were all circling the oven we went back to the classroom with them and waited for them to down then we put the in plastic containers.

Literacy Blog

Ah so literacy I have been learning quite a bit so last week on Monday my whole literacy group got a piece of paper that was rectangle. And it had what we need to finish by 2 weeks I've almost finished all the things that we need ta do so that's that. I did my thing last week and by thing I mean a spelling test there was 20 words and I only got 20 out of 20 its alright. So I got all of them so I started my literacy blog but I only did about 4 sentances cause I didnt finishing it cause I would rather do dodge ball than writing about work but writing about anything is probably better than dodge ball only about 1 percent more tho. After that we did more literacy well we didn't but I did cause I felt like writing about nothing important cause I always do that. I either write about nothing or I draw about nothing. So my class has also been doing this new thing called word art its alright so all ya gotta do is get your spelling list from this week and pick out five words and draw the words sepirate tho and u need to write what the drawing is in the drawing somewhere. So that's my story for today.

What we did this morning/ Writing fun

This morning we started to do writing that I have never done before. So we wrote down in our books column's A B C D E then we wrote random number 1-10 beside the letters. So for A I chose 10 so I got a cleaner for B I chose 8 so I got at McDonalds for C I chose 5 and that was after midnight. For D I chose 10 so I got a gold bracelet, finally for E I got loud torrential rain. So after we got our things we had to write a paragraph with all of the words in it. So my story was, After midnight a cleaner was at McDonald's cleaning the bath rooms she was wearing her favourite gold bracelet but it was way too big for her wrist so then she started cleaning the toilets. But then her bracelet fell down the toilet and she didn't know, so then she flushed the toilet and saw something shiny in there. She looked at her wrist she started crying, then loud torrentail rain started pouring.

Reader's Theatre in Literacy

The Three Little Pigs-Lauryn Crowe

Reader parts:  Narrator, Mother, first little pig, second little pig, third little pig, Big Bad Wolf.

Narrator: Once upon a time there were three little pigs, the time came for them to leave home
and seek their fortunes.

Mother: Before you leave, whatever you do, do the best that you can, because that’s the
way to get along in the world.

Narrator: The first little pig built his house out of straw because that’s the easiest thing to do.
The second little pig built his house out of sticks, this was a little bit stronger than the straw
house. The third little pig built his house out of bricks.

Narrator: One night the big bad wolf, who dearly loved to eat fat little piggies came along
and saw the first little pig in his straw house.

Big Bad wolf: Let me in, let me in little pig or I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in!

First little pig: Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin.

Narrator: But of course the wolf did blow the house in and ate the first little pig.

Narrator: The wolf then came to the house of sticks.

Big Bad wolf: Let me in, let me in or I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in.

Second little pig: Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin.

Narrator: But the wolf did blow the house down too, and ate the second little pig.

The wolf then went to the brick house.

Big Bad Wolf: Let me in or I’ll blow your house down.

Third little pig: What ever.

Narrator: The wolf huffed and puffed but could not blow the house down. But

the wolf was a sly old wolf, and he climbed up on the roof to look for a way into the

brick house.

Narrator: The little pig saw the wolf climb onto the roof and lit a roaring fire in the fireplace
and placed on it a large kettle of water.  When the wolf finally found the hole in the chimney he
crawled down and KERSPLASH right into that kettle of water and that was the end of his
troubles with the big bad wolf.

Narrator: The next day the little pig invited his mother over.

Mother: You see it is just as I told you. The way to get along in the world is to do things as well
as you can, Fortunately for that other pig he learned that lesson.

Science

About a month ago the students in Tangaroa have been starting to do science. We had to get into groups I got in a group with my friend Rylee. Everyone went onto there computer and got this email from Mr Redmond, the email had all of these experiments there was soap making, making gel, elephant toothpaste, making concreat, doing plaster designs on your hand. making hokey pokey, ginger beer. Me and Rylee are making ice cream even though its not on the list but other people in my class have made it too. And what really annoyed me yesterday was that me and Rylee are in this math's group with this lady Jude and she comes into Tangaroa and takes me and Rylee and two other people. And that is at the exact same time as science. So me and Rylee were about to start to make our ice cream then she came in she came up to me and Rylee and we both asked her if we can do sience she said no so and that's why we haven't started yet cause of her.

My literacy learning so far...

In literacy we have been doing MPR’s. The last MPR that I did was on Tuesday it was about Sir Ernest Rutherford and how he was the first one to split an atom. So the MPR was mainly just about atoms and molecules. We have been learning about that in science too. 

In spelling we are refining how to spell more words that we struggle with in spelling. On the whole spelling list there is a year 7 and 8 spelling list. The year 8 words and the year 7 words are the same up to number 10. The spelling activity is putting each of the words in a sentence. I enjoy it and its fun but not when you don’t know where to put the words. There’s 20 words on each spelling list and we get a different spelling list every week on monday and we also have to do spelling tests every Friday. The last spelling test I did it turned out very bad cause I didn't practice them at all so hopefully it changes this week and the score was only 9 correct out of 20 so that means that 11 were wrong. I have also been doing more writing. I wrote this story in my book but now I have to put it in my blog cause I don't have many blogs this year.

Friday sports.

Today my school is doing winter sports we do winter sports every Friday. But if it is raining the sports is cancelled. There is several sports there is netball, hockey, soccer, capture the flag, and circus. I am doing netball I am in the B team, its called the Rebels. last Friday we won the score was 19-2 the game was pretty boring cause the ball didn't come down the court. So I didn't get the ball cause Im goal keep, goal keep is a player that defends goal shoot. Netball is pretty hard cause if the other team has the ball and you try to defend them you have to stand 3 feet away and when you run to the ball and catch the ball you have to land on both feet.

Animal care attendant

last week on Wednesday the year 6 students came into tangaroa to see the seniors work on careers. my career was a animal care attendant, the reason I want to be one is because I like animals exept cats. the year 6 students finally came in I was nervous cause I don't like people seeing my work the year 6 people walked around for about half an hour then left.

My Writing using main ideas with supporting details

Our trip to Redwood. In the weekend my dad and I went to Redwood. I didn’t know where we were going. We went on three buses to get there. We got off the bus in Redwood. I didn’t know where we were. We had to walk down this road with no footpath. We were just walking on grass next to us was just trees and going past us was just cars. Finally we got to the street I found out we were going to Redwood Aquatics.

Today in math's we were learning how to do algorithms I reakon they were hard at first because I started adding from the far right but then when I got to the far left I didnt know where to put the extra number.

                                                                       

Technology

TECHNOLOGY SO FAR...

In technology I am in electronics and my tech is going
great because the led works and I am making a lamp for
my mum and I. Yeah so I am doing that for an hour and a half.
Then after break. I am in coding for the rest of the day for tech.
I don’t like coding because I would actually would like to make
something to take home but we make stuff on the computer.
So it is two different things.
