In the weekend on Saturday my mum and brother where talking about getting a dog while I was just listing in my room watching you tube. Then all I heard was awww those are cute and my brother said yeah there alright but don't get one mum said nah I might y brother said if you do i'm gonna get my own dog and get it to eat that one I was like ayeeee so I went out to the lounge and asked what they were talking about mum said oh I'm thinking of getting a dog I was like oh ok like a dog dog or a puppy mum said a 10 week old pup was like oh aye then I asked to see a picture and they were pre cool. But later that day Tyson went to go see my sister coz she got back from a army practice thing out in Burnham. And after he left mum said shes gonna get the pup I was like oh allgoods so she asked the guy where he lived and he said out in goon I was like aye how we gonna get out there she said she could get her mate to take us. So we got ready and mum didn't have money at that time so I payed but the dog was free so it didn't matter I just payed for gas and the food. It was about a half an hour drive not that long. The street was very quiet and the houses were about 10 meters from the next house. We finally got to the house drove up the long driveway and then we saw these little white and some were brown they were just runny around in the garage and next to there mum and dad. But yeah the lady came out and told us that the dark ones and one white one were getting picked up that day so we were looking and there was one down in the corner shaking and when it saw me it just ran up to me and sat between my legs shaking I was like aye so I picked it up he was a boy and he just stopped shaking I was like aye what a weird dog so mum decided we got that one he is white and has both brown ears and brown spots on his back. He is real small when we got into the car I put him onto the seat next to me and he just sat there and shaking heaps. Then I put on my seat belt then I looked at him then he looked at me then he just came onto my lap I was like ok ok allgoods then he fell asleep but it was a bumpy road and he almost kept falling of and kept waking up. Mum let me choose his name I didn't know what to call him so I just came up with Oddie so yeah but I forgot the breed of what he is. But yeah mum got him one of these squeaky toys and I took out the squeaky bit and mum was wondering the whole time home why it wasn't squeaking but yeah when we got home I got the squeaky toy and put the thing back in so yeah it started working she was like you little poo. So I picked up the dog and took him inside I just put him on the ground and mum almost stood on him I was like wow watch out mum. But yeah it was algoods he was just scared as. And he also kept humping my arm and leg's it was weird as.

Athletics on monday.
On last Monday we had athletics I was excited but a lil nervous too but not really.
The day it started I went up to the board to see what I had first and the year 8 girls were with the year 4 boys I wasn't to happy because we had high jump first and I suck at high jump. But yeah when the bell rang everyone came inside and put on our hats but I just put sunblock on but then I found a spare hat and put that on.
The teachers red out what everyone was doing and then after that everyone went outside to the places we were meant to be. There was a mat and pole and stuff for the year 4's and one for the the year 8 girls the year 4 boys one was pretty low and our one wasn't low but wasn't high. But yeah we then started I was at the back of the line and everyone was going good and doing it normally and then it was my turn I ran up to the poll then yeah I just slid underneath the poll I just couldn't do it normally so yeah that's that.
The next thing we had next was long jump and I was happy to do it but I knew I wasn't good at it at all either but I still did it. The year 8's went first. Then it was the year 4's. After we finished it was break time. After break, we had sprints. The year 4's went first. After they finished we went to the yellow start line, but the teacher there, Mr Stewart, moved them further away so that we had to run longer.
The sprints were pretty fun. After sprints it was long distance. We started in the corner where the cones were and just ran around the bike track 3 times. And then went back to the cones but I forgot to go back to the cones.
We finished that and yeah, it was break time and lunch time. I was first basically walking around though. After break we had discus and I knew that this would be the one I'm good at. The year 8 girls lined up in two lines and the year 4 boys lined up in 4 lines. Logo told us how to do it. Then he called up the first three girls at the start of the line and I was third so I stood up and go the discus. When it was my turn I stood up and threw it, but only got 16.7 metres. I came second for the year 8 girls. Arika came first at 18 point something. Then all the year 4 people got ready. I think the person that won got 7 metres.
We then went to shot put. I wasn't too good at this, but the teacher that was doing it had dumb rules and I got 8.9 metres.

The Dawn Raid's of the 1970's
In literacy this week we have been learning about the dawn raid's this is what I have learnt. In the early 50's, 60's, and 70's, NZ needed a labour force to work. In mid 1970's the market crashed and jobs were lost. New Zealander's complained that jobs were taken by immigrants. The New Zealand government made a law that all over stayers had to leave NZ. So the police raided homes in the early hours of the morning and this was known as The Dawn Raids. Pasifika families were rounded up and deported back to their homeland. The Polynesian Panthers became the voice that taught Pasifika people about their rights.

The NZ General Elections Referendum 2020
The NZ General Elections Referendum 2020
New Zealanders will be voting on the two referendum choices below in October.
My opinion on ending your own life is that you should already be able to end your own life if you are really sick because it is your choice and your life if you have had enough. I also think that it should be legal so people don't have to suffer and I reckon that they shouldn’t have to die in pain.
My opinion on legalising marijuana is that it should be legal because it is just a plant and tobacco is legal and Marijuana isn't and a lot of people want it to be legal so they won't go to jail for growing a plant. I also think it should be legal to everyone, not just the people that use it for medicine but the people that use it for fun can still use it just not while driving.

Wednesday Boxing
On Wednesday night at 6:00 I had my boxing training. Both me and my brother do it we started in a circle like always we did some stretches the stretches we did was a lunge but we held it there but our back leg went all the way down and all we did was lean forward to stretch the knee cap thing. We then put our left leg straight so only the heel of the foot was on the ground the we put our right leg sideways and lent on our left knee then we put our toes up to the ceiling then we switched legs. After both legs we stood up and did our arms we did a thing that your left arm goes across your chin and your right arm pulls it back and we did that with both too. Next was the neck stretches we did roll it back then forward side to side and circles both ways.
We then got buddies I was paired up with this lady called Clarissa she is around 21 years old but the first time I saw her I thought she was way younger. I got the pads on and she got the gloves on the first combo we did was jab jab hook hook then a hook to the hip both sides then two uppercuts she did 10 of those then we switched so it was my turn to do 10. It wasn't that hard the only thing that was wrong was that there was no music because Brian's wife wasn't there Andrea shes the one that runs the group with Brian and Andrea also does boxing with the little kids well like 7,10 and 13 year old's but i'm not in that group i'm in the adults group with my brother and sister and Brian runs that group. When I finished my 10 I waited for the other people to finish but we all finish around the same time if we can keep count and I got a drink.
When everyone finished Brian showed us what to do next i'm pretty sure it was jab jab kick to the right side of the head then jab jab and kick to the left side of the head but they actually put the pad there so we don't kick the persons actual head obviously. But some of the kicks I did made the pads bounce back and hit her head but she didn't mind. Then Clarissa did 10 of those but for some reason every session we have we always do that combo.
Since its kick boxing, on Monday's we actually do more boxing then kicks but on Wednesday's we do basically just kicks like checking and that type of stuff it doesn't hurt that much it only hurts if you go hard and they check it or if you shin there knee. But we're actually meant to wear shin pads most people do but me and ma brother don't because we actually want to condition them so yeah. She did 10 of those then we went into this one we're me and ma brother do it pretty fast but I wasn't with him because he always goes really hard. But it went like this jab, jab, hook, hook, under, under, hook, hook, side, side, hook, hook then a knee to the left thigh. I did them too then we just rested for a little bit and got a drink and had a little spa then we got told of. Then a other guy took the class his name is Sefa he is also a sensei he's a black belt well we don't actually get belts we just get a coloured T-shirt. But anyways Brian went down to help Andrea because some of the kids down that end weren't listening like usual. So Sefa took over and we had two lines and we were standing in front of our partner we were with. And the people with the pads were on the side away from the door and the people with the gloves were the closest to the door and I had the pads on so I was on the side far away from the door and Clarissa was yeah I've said it enough. Sefa said alright we are going to do 1, 1, 2, and what that means is like front hand jab twice and back hand jab once so the leading hand is called one and the other jab is called 2 iykyk we just did heaps of different ones of those I wont type it out because its to confusing and I can't quiet remember to be honest. But we added a Parry and what that is, is when the other person goes to punch your face nut you put your hand on top of there glove and push it down.

What we have been doing in math's.
Every week we have Math's and we have it everyday except Thursday. Everyday we do the same thing and it isn't that bad its just the type of question's. But we do a square thingy and it's just a lot of times tables like 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 7s, 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s and 12s. The square thing we do i'm pretty sure its a math's graph. this is what it looks like.

Math's
In math's it is Ok because I am in Mr Redmond's group and his group is the easiest out of all three group's there is Mr Redmond's that's the easiest then it goes Sharon's hers is the Medium group and last is Nogo's group and that's the hardest. Every time we have math's we have to get a pen and ya computer and go down to the mat and get a work sheet and start to fill it out at the very top of the sheet there is a line of skip counting that you need to fill out then go down and there will be a block of 4 times tables up to 12. After that there is a line of 6 skip counting fill them out there is 6 times tables up to 12. Finish those then there is 9 skip counting and then there is 9 times tables to do. And at the very end of the work sheet there is algorithm's and double numbers times another double number and there not to hard but depends what type of numbers they are but the algorithm's are really easy. After you've finished the sheet you have to go give it to Mr Redmond. And then go on the computer and go onto the Mr Redmond's math's site and go onto the quiz thingy and fill that out all it is, is a lot of questions to fill out there is about 20 questions to answer. After you've done it there is a math's problem to do its pretty confusing tho its like um two people were making something like a house and we need to work out the perimeter of it then work out how much it will cost and then that's it and put it into Mr Redmond's turn in sheet. And there is one more thing to do and it is a square math's thing and all it is is a square with little squares inside it and on the very left there is numbers going down to 12 and and the very top there is numbers going across to the very right up to 12. And all it is is meeting up the numbers in the square and times it or if it's plus, plus it and just do the whole thing then turn it in to the turn in sheet.

Mrs Gren, living things
Movement.
Instead of walking forward on two legs, they move quickly sideways in a flurry with their multiple legs. Crabs move sideways for the same reason humans move forward: that's how their bodies were built to move crabs, on the other hand, have multiple legs and they're located on the sides of their bodies.
Reproduction
Decapod crabs are built like a folded-up lobster. The abdomen, which is equivalent to a tail, is folded up tightly underneath its body to form an abdominal flap.
Sensing
Like many other marine animals, crabs rely on their sense of smell to find prey. Crabs have chemoreceptors that allow them to detect chemicals in the water that are released by their prey a crab can "taste" using hairs on its mouthparts, pincers and even its feet.
Growth
This process is known as molting. They can live between 8–13 years and reach a size of 10-plus inches. Within 2-3 years, crabs are sexually active. At 4-5 years, they have grown to the legal harvest size (6 ¼ across the shell and 2-3 pounds in weight).
Respiration
The oxygen consumption, ventilation and blood gas transport were investigated in the tropical land crab Gecarcinus lateralis to determine the adaptations of the respiratory system for aerial respiration. The gills of Gecarcinus are reduced in size and specialized, in part, for salt and water uptake. The epibranchial space of the branchial chamber is very much enlarged and lined with what is probably a respiratory epithelium. There is a high ventilatory air-flow, produced by the beating of the scaphognathites, but the percentage extraction of oxygen is extremely low. This may be the result of ventilatory ‘shunts’, whereby a proportion of the air does not come into contact with the respiratory surfaces. The energetic cost of a high ventilation rate need not be high, because of the low inertial mass of air in comparison with water. A high oxygen tension gradient of 103 torr is maintained across the respiratory surfaces. This is interpreted as an adaptation to achieve a high oxygen diffusion rate through the reduced surface area of the gills. The blood has a relatively high oxygen capacity which is again thought to be an adaptation to compensate for the reduced gill surface area. Carbon dioxide tensions and content were high as in other terrestrial animals. Overall, the respiratory adaptations are thought to be related primarily to the reduction in the respiratory surface area which has evolved to deal with the problems of water conservation in these terrestrial animals.
Excretion
They have green glands in their second antennae that they use to get rid of some body waste. They also have a two-chambered stomach with a special grinding mill that grinds up food. They excrete most of their body waste though an opening on their telson. The telson is the last segment on their body.
Nutrition
Rich in vitamins and minerals, crab meat is also low in fat and contains Omega-3 polyunsaturated acids. Helps provide protection from heart disease and aids brain development. Some research suggests that Omega-3 also inhibits aggressive behaviour. And it's not just any old Omega-3 – it's the long chain variety.

The first technology session in 2020
My second class was plastics when I first walked in I saw the teacher and I remembered her from last year when I burnt my finger in metals making a clock and she put this burn cream on it. Her name is Miss Hamilton. The first thing we did was sit at the table and talk about the safety rules. We then got on with some work we could make what ever we wanted out of the bits of scrap plastic. I decided to make a little dog using the vinyl cutter. I typed up silhouette dog\puppy I found one I wanted to use it looked like a pitbull. I then had to do the Cutstudio app it was so confusing I finally did It though. All we had to do was stick it to the piece of plastic then sand the edges till there smooth after I did that I sand blasted it and took off the plastic It looked very cool.
